Should I be concerned?

My child is...

  • Not rolling, walking, or moving like other children the same age?
  • Not talking or talking differently than other children?
  • Having problems seeing or hearing?
  • Having health problems?
  • Too active or not active enough?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, you may want to have your child evaluated under the Early Intervention Program.

Evaluations

The earlier a developmental concern is identified, the better. With early detection, a child can receive help in specific areas while simultaneously maintaining progress in other areas of development.

Families, important teachers for their children, work closely with their service coordinator and the evaluator to develop and implement an Individual Family Service Plan. Program areas include special instruction; speech, physical, and occupational therapy; service coordination; and other services as outlined in their plan.

CORE: A multidisciplinary evaluation to assess all areas of development. Supplemental: May include speech, physical, and/or occupational therapists.
